120 families in the Minooka/Channahon area received food at the July Mobile Food Pantry. Reclaimed partners with The Village Christian Church and Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide 10,000 lbs of food for families in the community that need help with groceries. The families may be dealing with job loss, illness, the death of a family member, divorce, or another tough issue that makes feeding their family a struggle.
Volunteers set up the food line, passed out food and carried heavy boxes for the families. Volunteers included attendees of The Village Christian Church.
Taking care of the people in the community of Minooka and surrounding area is one of Reclaimed’s priorities. The Mobile Food Pantry trucks help these families by providing 10,000 lbs. of food accessible to anyone in need in the spring through the fall. No proof of income or i.d. is required to pick up a box of food, which includes perishables and non-perishables.
The next Mobile Food Pantry will be on August 27th at 5:00 pm at The Village Christian Church parking lot.
