Gangs, drugs, prostitution, murders, unemployment, and hopelessness are prevalent in Chicago. Now think about the kids that are living in this harsh reality every day. They wake up every day and are exposed to some pretty tough situations. Ms. Pearl Willis is making a difference in the south side Chicago community of Roseland through the Good News Day Care. She provides a nurturing environment, and gives encouragement and hope back to the community.
Ms. Pearl needs help – your help – with her Annual Block Party! It won’t happen if we can’t get enough volunteers. The Block Party is a time for the kids to have fun and just be a kid for awhile. It’s a time for these inner city kids to laugh, play games, have treats, and a lot of fun!
All you need to do is show up and love on these kids! You can bring your kids too! We especially need male volunteers! Consider taking a day off work to serve. Show God’s love and be an example to these kids!
When: Friday, July 28th, meet at church at 7:30 am, return around 3 pm
Where: Good News Day Care, 210 W. 113th Street, Chicago, IL 60628
