Mobile Food Pantry
Mobile food pantry trucks provide 10,000 lbs. of food accessible to anyone in need living in Minooka/Channahon and surrounding communities. Reclaimed works in partnership with Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide trucks in the spring through the fall. There is no proof of income or i.d. required for a person or family to come through the food line. Distribution starts at 5 pm and is first come first served. It usually wraps up at 6 pm, or as soon as the food has been fully dispersed.
Volunteers are welcome! The trucks will be at The Village Christian Church at 8965 S. Bell Road in Minooka, Il. If you’re looking for an opportunity to serve come help at 4:30 pm. Kids can help too! No need to sign up, just come on out whenever you can! Volunteers set up the food lines, unpack the food from the truck, hand out food, and carry boxes.
Feed My Starving Children
Packing meals in partnership with Feed My Starving Children and working together to end hunger. The nutritional complete meals are specifically formulated for malnourished children. Volunteers hand-pack meals which are sealed and shipped to the neediest children around the world. Reclaimed organizes trips to the Aurora, Il packing facility.
There will also be a packing event hosted at The Village Christian Church in Minooka, Illinois in October 2019. Over 500 volunteers will pack over 100,000 meals at a cost of less than a quarter per meal.!
